Anhedonia as one of the transdiagnostic symptoms is very common in patients with mood disorders. Traditional psychological assessment and treatment of patients with mood disorders focused on symptom dimensions and reduction of negative emotions, often in the form of face-to-face therapy with a therapist. In recent years, scholars have explored positive psychotherapeutic programs for anhedonia through the study of intrinsic reward mechanism. With the help of the Internet, computers, virtual reality and other emerging technologies, it has become possible to realize targeted digital psychotherapy. This article reviews the most recent psychological assessments and digital psychotherapeutic programs within this field with the aim of introducing potential reward mechanisms for anhedonia symptoms in patients with mood disorders.
