Abstract:

Postmenopausal women have an increased risk of cognitive impairment-Alzheimer disease （AD）， while estrogen therapy has showed contribution to the improvement of cognitive function impairment. Estrogen has significant neuroprotective effects. This article reviews how the estrogen affects cognition and more serious cognitive deficits， such as AD.
