Abstract:Objective To investigate the malnutrition status and its influencing factors in patients with first-episode schizophrenia. Methods A total of 450 first-episode schizophrenics admitted to the Wuhan Regional Psychiatric Union from January 2020 to June 2022 were selected by simple random sampling method. The general data of patients were collected after admission. According to the criteria of Nutrition Risk Screening 2002, first-episode schizophrenics were divided into malnutrition group and normal nutrition group. Univariate analysis and multivariate Logistic regression model were used to analyze the factors affecting malnutrition in firstepisode schizophrenics. Results Of the 450 first-episode schizophrenics, malnutrition accounted for 19.11% (86/450). The results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of age, body mass index, spouse, osteoporosis and food refusal (t/χ2 =5.066,9.608, 5.399,4.712,11.102; P< 0.05). The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that advanced age (OR=1.446,95%CI:1.148-1.823) and food refusal (OR=4.306, 95%CI:1.865-9.944) were risk factors of malnutrition (P< 0.01), while high BMI (OR=0.871, 95%CI:0.782-0.871) was an protective factor (P< 0.05). Conclusions The incidence of malnutrition is high in patients with first-episode schizophrenia. Advanced age and food refusal are risk factors of malnutrition, while high BMI is a protective factor.

Abstract:Objective To explore the genetic polymorphisms of 3 sites, including rs13009002,rs72893068 and rs61739291, of zinc finger protein 804A gene (ZNF804A), and to analyze the correlation between ZNF804A polymorphism and severity of symptoms in Uighur first-episode schizophrenic patients. Methods From July 2015 to June 2018, a total of 937 Uighur first-episode schizophrenic patients and 937 healthy physical examinees admitted in the Kashgar and Hotan Mental Health Institutions of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Department of Psychiatry of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University were selected as the case group and the control group. The severity of psychotic symptoms was assessed using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS). The 3 loci (rs13009002, rs72893068 and rs61739291) of ZNF804A of the 2 groups were sequenced using high-throughput gene sequencing. The association loci were compared by gender. The gene polymorphisms and severity of psychiatric symptoms were compared. Results There were no significant differences between the case and control groups in genotyping of rs72893068 and rs61739291, or allele frequency (P> 0.05). The G allele frequency of rs13009002 of the case group was 92.2% (1 728/1 874), higher than that of the control group 90.2% (1 690/1 874), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2 =4.026, P < 0.05). The differences in dominant [OR (95%CI)=1.30 (1.02- 1.66)], over-dominant [OR (95%CI)=1.28 (1.00-1.63)], and additive [OR (95%CI)=1.31 (1.03-1.65)] genetic patterns of rs13009002 between the 2 groups were statistically significant (P< 0.05). Among the male subjects, the dominant GG genotype and over-dominant GG/TT genotype at rs13009002 locus in the case group were more than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(χ2 =11.944,11.645;P< 0.01). Among the male subjects, the frequency of G gene in the case group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2 =11.020, P< 0.01). The score of negative symptoms of male patients was higher than that of female patients, and the score of general pathology, depression and activation was lower than that of female patients, with statistically significant difference (t=2.003,2.023, 3.296, 2.736; P< 0.05). There was statistically significant difference in the scores of positive symptoms and thinking disorders among young, middle-aged and elderly patients (F=1.189,5.238;P< 0.05). The scores of positive symptoms and thinking disorders of male patients with rs13009002 dominant GG genotype in the case group were higher than those with GT/TT genotype, and the difference was statistically significant (t=2.970, 2.260; P<0.05). Male patients with over-dominant GG/TT genotype had higher scores of positive symptoms, thinking disorder and aggression than those with GT genotype, and the difference was statistically significant (t=2.776, 2.244, 2.110; P< 0.05). Conclusions The rs13009002 loci of ZNF804A gene is associated with the susceptibility of the first episode of schizophrenia in the Uygur nationality in China, and with the severity of mental symptoms in male patients. The positive mental symptoms of patients with dominant GG and over-dominant GG/TT genotype are more serious. The rs72893068 and rs61739291 loci lack association with schizophrenia in Chinese Uighurs.

Abstract:Objective To explore the mediating role of self-esteem in the relationship between peer victimization and the frequency of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in adolescents with depressive episode. Methods A total of 142 adolescents with depressive episode hospitalized in the Department of Pediatric Psychology of Suzhou Guangji Hospital from January to December 2021 were recruited as the research subjects. Functional Assessment of Self-Mutilation (FASM), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES),Multidimensional Peer Victimization Scale (MPVS) and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) were applied to investigated NSSI behavior, self-esteem level, peer victimization and depression level of the patients. Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between peer victimization, self-esteem and NSSI frequency in adolescent depressive patients. PROCESS 3.0 was used for mediation effect test. Results The detection rate of NSSI among adolescents with depressive episode was 76.8% (109/142). The scores of PHQ-9, RSES and MPVS were (20.39±4.85), 19.00 (14.75,23.00) and 16.00(4.00,32.00), respectively, in NSSI group. The scores of peer victimization, physical victimization, verbal victimization, social manipulation and attacks on property were all positively correlated with NSSI frequency (r=0.432,0.303,0.407,0.387,0.278;P< 0.01); while selfesteem was negatively correlated with NSSI frequency (r=-0.460,P < 0.01). The results of the intermediary test showed that self-esteem had a partial mediating effect between peer victimization and NSSI frequency, and the mediating effect accounted for 31.9%-60.2%. Conclusions The self-esteem has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between peer victimization and the frequency of NSSI in adolescents with depressive episode, suggesting that attention should be paid to peer victimization of adolescent depressive patients and the intervention of low self-esteem to reduce the occurrence of NSSI behavior.

Abstract:Objective To explore the situation of non-suicide self-injury (NSSI) and depression among junior high school students in Shandong Province, and analyze the intermediary role of depression between behavior inhibition/activation system (BIS/BAS) and NSSI. Methods In June 2022, a total of 2 900 students from 3 middle schools in Sishui County, Jining City, Shandong Province were recruited by cluster sampling method. Adolescent Self-Harm Behaviors Questionnaire,Behavioral Inhibition/Activation Systems Scales (BIS/ BAS scales),and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) were used for investigation. Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between variables. SPSS Amos 24.0 software was used to construct the structural equation model and carry out the intermediary effect test. A total of 2 900 questionnaires were distributed in this study, and 2 429 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 83.76%. Results The annual incidence of NSSI in 2 429 junior high school students was 37.55% (912/2 429), and the incidence of depression was 32.73% (795/2 429). All the students were divided into NSSI group (n=912) and non-NSSI group (n=1 517) according to whether there was NSSI behavior. The score of Adolescent Self-Harm Behaviors Questionnaire in NSSI group was (33.01±21.24). The score of BIS, BAS-Fun Seeking, and SDS in NSSI group was (11.08±2.93), (7.15±2.58) and (53.17±10.67), all higher than those in non-NSSI group(10.16±3.15), (6.52±2.55) and (43.16±9.77), respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (t=-7.312, -5.838,-23.098; P < 0.001). The score of BAS-Reward Responsiveness in NSSI group was (11.64±2.53), lower than that in non-NSSI group (12.16±2.24), and the difference was statistically significant (t=5.084,P< 0.001). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the degree of depression of junior high school students with NSSI was positively correlated with the severity of NSSI, BIS Sensitivity and BAS-Drive Sensitivity (r=0.484, 0.184,0.128; P< 0.01); BAS-Reward Responsiveness sensitivity is negatively correlated with the severity of NSSI and the degree of depression (r=-0.203,-0.239;P< 0.01). Regression analysis showed that depression had a positive impact on NSSI (β=0.461,P< 0.001), while behavioral activation system-reward response had a negative impact on NSSI (β=-0.093,P< 0.01). Results of the structural equation model showed that depression played a completely mediating role between BIS as well as BAS-Fun Seeking and NSSI,and the estimates of complete mediating effects were 0.121 and 0.204 respectively, accounting for 86.4% and 72.7% of the total effect. Depression played a partially mediating role between BAS-Reward Responsiveness and NSSI, and the estimate of the partial mediating effect was -0.199, accounting for 58.2% of the total effect. Conclusions The incidence of adolescent NSSI is relatively high. Depression plays a complete mediating role between BIS,BASFun Seeking and NSSI,and plays a partial mediating role between BAS-Reward Responsiveness and NSSI.

Abstract:Objective To explore the mediating role of depression between internat addiction and selfinjury among left-behind adolescents and the regulatory role of social support. Methods Using the stratified cluster sampling method, 1 945 left-behind students were selected from 8 township junior high schools in a county of Chongqing from September to December 2019 as the research objects. The online questionnaire survey was conducted with the Diagnostic Scale of Internet Addiction for Middle School Students, Self-Injury Scale, Patients' Health Questionnaire Depression Scale-9 Item and Adolescent Social Support Rating Scale. Pearson correlation and point two column correlation were used to analyze the correlation between internet addiction and depression, social support and self-injury among left-behind adolescents. PROCESS V4.0 was applied to analyze the mediation effect of depression between internet addiction and self-injury among left-behind adolescents and the regulatory effect of social support. Results The detection rate of self-injury among left-behind adolescents was 31.8% (619/1 945). They were divided into self-injury group (n=619) and non-self-injury group (n=1 326) according to whether they have self-injury behavior. There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups of left-behind adolescents (χ2 =4.153, P< 0.05). Correlation analysis showed that internet addiction was positively correlated with depression and self-injury, and negatively correlated with social support; depression was positively correlated with self-injury (r=0.314,0.307,-0.203,0.371; P < 0.01). Mediating effect analysis showed that depression played a partially mediating role between internet addiction and selfinjury. The standardized mediating effect of depression was 0.11, which accounted for 31.4% of the total effect. Moderating effect analysis showed that the relationship between internet addiction and depression was moderated by social support(β=-0.162, P< 0.01). Conclusions There is a mediating effect between internet addiction and self-injury among left-behind adolescents. Depression is the intermediary variable of the relationship between the two. Social support buffered the impact of internet addiction on depression. The higher the level of social support, the weaker the impact of internet addiction on depression.

Abstract:Pyroptosis is a form of programmed cell death, which is closely related to inflammatory responses and is caused by pathogen infection or non-infectious factors. It is one of the main innate immune defense mechanisms of the body. Pyroptosis is involved in the occurrence and development of various systemic diseases in the body. The current research is more in-depth in cognitive dysfunction related diseases, such as Alzheimer disease, vascular cognitive impairment, and perioperative neurocognitive disorders. The inflammasome plays a key role in the pyroptosis signaling pathway. In this paper, the mechanism of pyroptosis and its role and impact on cognitive dysfunction are reviewed, aiming to provide targets for the prevention and treatment of cognitive dysfunction, and provide ideas for related research.
